FAT-DISSOLVE/MESOTHERAPY is a method of reducing localized stubborn areas of fat and cellulite using small amounts of vitamins and medicines, which are placed just below the skin surface.

What is Fat-dissolve?
Fat-dissolve is a method of injecting minute amounts of vitamins and medicines below the skin, which stimulate the metabolism of local fat cells. The vitamins and medicines work by stimulating the receptors on fat cells, which in turn break down fat. During mesotherapy, vitamins are injected using a special gun in many areas of cellulite just below the skin surface.

How effective is Fat-dissolve?
It is an effective method of reducing fat and cellulite in small localised deposits of the body.

How many treatments are needed?
4-8 sessions in most cases. One session weekly for one month, one session fortnightly for the 2nd month, and then one session monthly for 6 months. Some people need more sessions.

How long is the recovery period?
Mesotherapy is a lunchtime procedure, so no recovery period is needed.

What happens to the melted fat?
The melted fat is broken down and removed.

Is Fat-dissolve painful?
Fat-dissolve is virtually painless. An occasional pinprick may be felt.

Is time off work needed?
No.

How long does Fat-dissolve take?
Fat-dissolve takes about 20-30 minutes. If it is combined with the Vela Smooth (laser and radiofrequency machine) the session may take 1-1.5 hours.

Is it possible to have a reaction to the Vitamins and medicines?
Although uncommon it is possible to have a reaction to one or more of the products used. It would be seen as localized area of redness. This is temporary and will usually disappear within 24 hours.

What are the side effects of Fat-dissolve?
Side effects are uncommon but include:

• Localized redness
• Bruising
• Infection
• Reaction to products
• Ulceration (very rare)
• Pigmentation

Is Fat-dissolve new or experimental?
Fat-dissolve was first introduced in 1950's, and has been practiced extensively in Europe for over 20 years. It is relatively new to Australia but is not experimental.

Can Fat-dissolve be used alone for treating fatty deposits and cellulite?
Fat-dissolve alone will not give as good a result as when combined with proper diet, exercise and the Vela Smooth machine. It is also helpful to take Cellulose Gold or Cellasine Gold tablets (1-3 daily)

What else can Fat-dissolve be used for?
Fat-dissolve can be also used in facial rejuvenation. For the face, vitamins A,C and yaluronic acid are injected under the skin to stimulate new collagen and produce soother skin.
